Life threatening cancer, Heart attack and stroke represent approximately 90 per cent of the adult critical illness claims made so far to insurers in Canada. If you own an incorporated business, you might want to explore the possibility of having your company pay for your critical illness insurance. In order to do this, it would be necessary to set up a Health & Welfare trust for your business which is a simple and inexpensive process. You would also have to provide critical illness coverage to at least one more person employed by your corporation. The amount of coverage provided to your employee[s] would not have to be the same amount as your coverage.
